The colon
The main function of the colon (Greek: large intestine) is to eliminate body waste by mixing and transport movements. The large intestine also plays an important role in the immune system.
Mostly bad nutrition due to excessive use of processed food, stress, lack of exercise and other influences of civilisation frequently cause disturbances in the gastrointestinal tract.
If "waste removal" no longer works, toxins, fungi and disease-causing bacteria are retained and accumulate, being carried to every part of the body. Due to the increased residence time of waste material in the large intestine, fermentation and putrefaction poisons are resorbed in considerable quantities.
Auto-intoxication (self-poisoning) of the body is an inevitable consequence. Drugs and increasingly stronger laxatives exert additional harmful effects on the mucosa of the colon.
Self-poisoning
A series of diseases and disturbances may occur:
- flatulence, bloating, diarrhoea, constipation and other chronic intestinal diseases
- chronic skin problems (e.g. acne)
- predisposition to infections, allergies, allergic asthma
- occurrence or progression of existing rheumatic diseases
Many diseases begin with digestive problems.
Healing with water
Colon hydrotherapy is a safe remedy. Filtered and temperature-regulated water (Greek: hydro) is gently introduced into the colon.
Apart from the therapeutical aspects, patients feel that this treatment is relaxing and soothing.
The introduction and immediate expulsion of water each time as well as appropriate use of massage of the abdomen in repeated sessions result in an effective cleansing of the colon. The method is performed completely odour-free and hygienically, even resistant debris built up over a long period will be worked loose from the colon walls and eliminated.
Colon irrigation also stimulates the lymphatic tissue inside the abdominal cavity, thus leading to a profound therapeutical effect.
The success of colon rehabilitation by colon hydrotherapy is supported by dietary changes and so-called symbiotic control.
In symbiotic control, natural "friendly" bacteria, in the form of oral capsules or drops, are reintroduced into the colon. In this manner, the intestinal flora and the entire organism are regenerated.
